The experience of Wyke Marine's senior staff coupled with our work force's knowledge of the dockland environment, particularly that of the Humber ports', gives an excellent foundation on which to build.
Wyke Marine can offer outstanding stevedoring management, supervision and labour and provide you with the following at competitive and flexible rates.
Quality management fully conversant with the requirements of the day to day running of a modern stevedoring operation.
Quality on the ground supervision of stevedore labour working to ensure maximum productivity from the resources available.
Quality superintendents, planners, shipping clerks and tally clerks on an "as and when required" basis all committed to getting the job done in a professional, competent and economically sound manner.
All our staff are fully conversant with shipping terms, technology and shipside practices and have the benefit of the backing and know-how of a professional marine management and inspection company. In other words we are most definitely not a "body shop".
We have no desire to be prime "movers and shakers" in the port industry but we do believe we have identified a niche in the market as supportive and reliable partners, sub-contractors or servants providing back up services to companies that we respect and admire.
Wyke Marine provide a surveyor and a superintendent throughout discharge to protect our client's interests. Following the completion of discharge we issue our Outturn Report which is produced and presented to our usual high standards and includes full and comprehensive information.
We have carried out this service for the last twelve years for a client importing bulk cargoes into Humberside ports. Our service has proved very useful for many reasons but the most important are as follows.
1) To support or verify any claims submitted against or lodged by our client.
2) To settle any disagreements on the stevedoring invoice.
3) To settle any laytime/demurrage payments if applicable.
4) To verify the weighing procedures and resultant tonnage.
A draught survey is an optional extra to the service. It a useful check or back stop if anything goes wrong to the mechanical/electronic weighing system. It has certainly proved invaluable on many occasions.
